The music of Kapu Kai is like a rainy evening wrapped in thick fog, surrounding listeners and enveloping them with its gentleness. In their sound, one can find inspirations from film noir, while the dreamlike, emotional vocals evoke images of retro clubs filled with smoke and a sense of the unknown—yet alluring.
Kapu Kai, among many others, performed at festivals such as the Liederlauschen am Rand, Domanice Castle (Festiwal Sztuk Zjednoczonych), Go On Stage Festival, and played as a guest of the Dzielnica Brzmi Dobrze project. They played as support for the band Kombajn Do Zbierania Kur Po Wioskach. In 2026, Kapu Kai released their debut album Reborn, which was played on Trójka Polskie Radio, Czwórka Polskie Radio, Radio Afera, Radio Zachód, and Radio Index 96fm. They have been featured on radio broadcasts hosted by Bartek Chaciński (Tygodnik muzyczny), Adam Smolarek (Odbiór), Marcin Olechnowski (Z Ukrycia), Jacek Grodzki (Scena), and music portals such as Muzobar, Hałasy i Melodie, and alternativepop.pl. The band was also a participant in Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs 2026 in Berlin, or Inkubator 2024 created by Tak Brzmi Miasto.
The band consists of Iwa (Ewelina) Pytiak as composer, vocalist, lyricist, and guitarist, Paweł Wesołowski on bass, and Nikita Barabolia on drums.
